Firewalls are the basic line of defense against any kinda cyber threats for a PC. When it comes to freeware firewalls for Windows XP or Vista, there are just too many choices. Windows 7 platform has been lagging in all front. Most of the novice PC user prefer not to stick with default firewall in Windows 7. Windows 7 platform has been a challenge for most software makers. Most of the freeware firewall for Windows of earlier version hasn't been updated lately by most of the vendors or many have been abandoned after some few editions. I have compiled a list of 10 freeware firewall application that works fine with Windows 7. If there happened to be a test comparative for all Windows 7 compatible firewall, then the testers will have only few candidates to look in for.
